Voting for a new high school. I hear people say “spend $40,000,000 on Jefferson”.
What?
To spend $40,000,000 renovating a Model A to save $24,000,000 is ludicrous.
I would rather spend $64,000,000 if I could make $100,000,000.
I do not know the complete financial outcome of how much of an investment return we could make from building a new high school, but the thought of not investing the $64,000,000 to create the opportunity blows my mind.
The Tech College currently has 3000 students. What if they could grow that to 6000 students? Do you have any idea the amount of revenue that is created per 1000 students to this economy?
Do you know the financial impact to this community if Douglas Machine Corporation adds 150 new technical jobs?
The hospital desperately needs more real estate…what does 50-100 new medical jobs create in revenue to this community?
When will Alexandria stop growing?
Do we not want more and better jobs to come to this community?
Voting no for this community’s new high school is borderline ______________(fill in the blank).
Invest in childrens education, that way you have to someone to make your Social Security payments…think about that for awhile.
It stuns me to think that people of this community even question building a new high school. Jefferson High School is shot…it’s over, crush it, tear it down, get rid of it…it has no future value other than landfill.
People…this community is pregant with opportunity but some are afraid to give birth.
Invest $64,000,000…it will all come back, with interest.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but a new high school? Come on, that’s a no-brainer!
